Directory Sort function does not finish but rolls back.

This happens when DMP3 MANAGER can not access one file during sort, usually because of an illegal file name.
MP3 grabbers tend to put special national characters to the file name, extracting from the ID3 tag which are not known by WINDOWS, therefore such files can not be opened.
