Is ID3 tag information displayed on the head unit?

TITLE and ARTIST ID3 tag information may or may not displayed on the head unit (car radio), depending on the model. Text display is supported with the following aftermarket car radios at the moment:

  • ALPINE (MBUS)
  • GRUNDIG
  • JVC
  • KENWOOD
  • VDO (DAYTON head units supporting CD Changer with digital output)
  • BLAUPUNKT (car radios with iPod support, requires v2.17 or later ice>Link Plus firmware)

Please note, that this is valid only for aftermaket radios. OEM (factory fitted) head units from the same vendors may work differently. Text information is available on the following OEM head units:

  • BMW
  • TOYOTA (head units supporting external MD changer)
