Dension is proud to announce the iPhone 5 compatibility with Gateway 500S BT and Gateway Pro BT. 

At Dension we have developed a new software solution that revolutionizes the way our products handle iPod playback. The Gateway 500S BT and Gateway Pro BT are enabling connection with the original Lightning cable through the USB port.
With this solution you get access to the following functions (among others):

• Connect and charge your iPhone 5
• Make Bluetooth handsfree calls & stream music from iPhone 5 (via A2DP)
• Listen to your music through the original car speakers
• Control your iPhone 5 from the Head Unit or the steering wheel controls
• Full menu browsing on your Head Unit or cluster display

The solution is available also for those customers who already have a Gateway 500S BT or a Gateway Pro BT, but a firmware update (version 0045) is needed in order to get the USB support for the iPhone 5.

With the new interface Apple has made the announcement of a 'Lightning to 30-pin Adapter' which enables the accessories and devices with the 30-pin connector to be connected to the Apple devices bearing the 'Lightning Connector'. According to the statement made by Apple:

This adapter lets you connect devices with a Lightning connector to many of your 30-pin accessories.* Support for analog audio output, USB audio, as well as syncing and charging. Video output not supported.

*Some 30-pin accessories are not supported.

At Dension we are working hard to make our devices compatible with the newest iPhones and iPods and according to the first technical details and specifications we received we can say that most of our Gateway products will work flawlessly with the 'Lightning to 30-pin Adapter' and we are already working on Gateway iPhone/iPod cables sporting the 'Lightning Connector'. We are also in the development phase of a new Car Dock for iPhone 5 to support the new connector and the increased vertical size of the new device.

Gateway 500 is the most successful and well-known Dension product by far which has always been the flagship product in our portfolio. Gateway 500 is "THE"  product in the history of Dension. And now the long awaited, brand new Gateway 500S BT product line is here!

Since the 500S BT features a handsfree kit there is no need to buy an additional BT accessory (BTA1500) for Gateway 500 anymore because the Bluetooth is integrated to the main board. It also has an improved Bluetooth chip with a more comprehensive phone compatibility and a better sound quality.

Our new device comes with an all-in-one set, so you have full iPod/iPhone control; you can playback music from a USB source and make handsfree calls or stream music via Bluetooth connection. Since we increased the charging support up to 1A, no Power Booster is needed when charging an iPhone 4S/4. All song information can be displayed on the vehicle screen(s). If such connection capabilities were not enough you can still utilize the 3,5 mm Aux-in. All controls and the browsing is made via the original controls of the car audio system (including steering wheel controls – if available), so no changes are made to your car interior.

Dension’s NEW Car Dock for Smartphone is a multipurpose cradle and sound transmitter with a generic design to fit most smartphones, allowing you to enjoy your music in your car. Connecting your smartphone to the cradle via Bluetooth also provides the possibility to make handsfree calls and to charge your phone while you are on the road.

Car dock for smartphone is able to communicate via it’s built in Bluetooth with your original car audio system two ways; either using the 3.5 mm Aux cable or the new HPST FM modulator which are both built into our device.

WiRC - WiFi RC receiver for smartphone

Dension WiRC is a groundbreaking gadget to replace the existing standard model radio receiver. It is something really special as - unlike other systems – Dension WiRC is multi-purpose: it is not designed for a sole vehicle but is a receiver combined with an app compatible with standard RC model receivers.

So now you can drive a car with your phone in the hands!

In 2011 WiRC came out with an iPhone app so you could drive your vehicle using the virtual joysticks or the gyros of the iPhone while watching the live video feed on the screen.

Now Dension is introducing the WiRC app for Androids too to turn your Android phone into an RC vehicle controller! This app is a free complementary software to the WiRC hardware allowing the user to watch and record the live video stream from the camera (included in the WiRC kit) installed while driving its RC model. All characteristics of the app are customisable, such as end-point adjustment, channel exposition, channel mix etc. Joystick control can be used as well as the gyros to drive the model depending on the rerquests.

To complete its WiRC portfolio in September 2011 Dension launched two fully equipped models too: a Zengő-Dension Team race car with WiRC control and an off-road car you can drive in the garden or even indoors called SmartRacer.

The Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from 27 February to 1 March 2012 is a world conference and a cutting-edge product and technology exhibition featuring 1,400 exhibitors from around the world. Since the Congress is always the space for the market leaders in mobile communication Dension is also displaying its Plug-and-Play product line including the Car Dock for Smartphone (under developement).

The Dension stand features its car dock solutions one of which is the well-known Car Dock for iPhone with its unique App while they are also displaying their new smartphone car dock. This new car dock is compatible with most of the current smart phones allowing Bluetooth handsfree, charging, and music playback emplified by original car stereo. Since the Car Dock is so popular NNG (the developer of iGo) agreed with Dension to have their iGo Primo Car Dock (made by Dension) also advertised here.

Dension does not forget that mobile devices became more than a communication interface and serve today in the very versatile areas of life. Therefore Dension WiRC appears on the Dension stand as well. WiRC not only allows RC model control (car, truck, boat, etc.) with an iPhone but makes it possible to control any remote controllable electronic device.

For those who do not want to hassle with building special equipments in a model vehicle but would like to have the fun of it then Dension SmartRacer is just the solution for them with its built-in camera to see the driver-view on the phone screen.

A Gateway to Benefits - The new generation of Gateway Lite
 

In 2011 Dension has decided to renew its existing Gateway portfolio creating a new Gateway World. This Gateway World ensures wide device and a perspicuous car compatibility without overlaps and makes it extremely easy to choose the right in-car entertainment solution quickly, easily and unambiguously.
 

The aim to develop this new range was to make it easier for everyone to pick the right Gateway product just by selecting the type of their existing car stereo and the desired feature set.

As the first part of the user friendly package on 1st November 2011 Dension launched the new Gateway Lite range that includes two solutions: the Gateway Lite and the Gateway Lite BT.

The Gateway Lite and Lite BT products are the renewed Gateway Lite car interfaces ensuring iPod, iPhone, Bluetooth phone and A2DP (only with Gateway Lite BT), Aux and USB device connectivity to the original car radio.

This basic car multimedia interface allows music playback from digital data sources, device charging and full car radio control. Gateway Lite BT also ensures hands free calling via Bluetooth using the car speakers and A2DP music streaming.
